Use Dog Crate Covers to Create a Safe and Secure Space for Your Pet

Posted by Wes Grasty on

Many veterinarians and dog care experts advocate the use of dog crates, not only for the transport of your furry little pals, but also to provide your canine buddy with a safe, secure and personal space which can serve as his own private den. A dog crate can provide comfort and solitude to your pet, especially when you are out at work or if you are running errands. By nature, dogs are den animals. Simply put, this means that your little pal needs a safe and secure place where he can rest, sleep, and hide when he feels unsafe. Additionally,...

Do I need a Dog Carrier Sling?

Posted by Wes on

Well, I don't because my dog's too big for one, but if I had a small dog - I would definitely consider getting a dog carrier sling.  I'm not just saying that because I own an online pet store.  The reason I would consider one is because I've always bought into the philosophy of the sling.  I had one for my son and it worked great.  The concept just makes sense to me.  The womb might have just been the most comfortable place for all of us.  Think about it...we had everything we needed - food, shelter, clothing.  Well, we...

My dogs get scared during thunderstorms, but I've found the solution...

Posted by susano on

When my brother was in college, he got himself a sweet golden retriever puppy and named him Cromwell.  Cromwell grew into a beautiful, highly intelligent, and awfully sweet dog who, as is often the case with college kids’ pets, wound up living at my parents’ house.  He became my dad’s constant and most beloved companion, truly this man’s best friend.  The first thing Dad did in the morning was take his buddy for a walk, and this was the first thing they did when he got home from work as well. During the day, Cromwell had a huge backyard in...

Turd Diving

Posted by Wes on

So the other "food" story I wanted to tell was of course about Barney.  He used to do what we termed "turd diving".  This is the act of "diving" into the cat litter box and chowing down on some...um...turds.  I hesitated to write about this one because some of you may think it is crude, but let's be honest - dogs are sometimes, so I think it's OK to tell about it. Needless to say, turd diving would sometimes make Barney sick.  Like throwing up sick.  It's bad enough picking up dog poop, but even worse is dog puke!  The...
